Family friendly wine tour

The ultimate wine-tasting experience for wine-loving parents

During this family friendly wine tour, you will have the chance to visit a winery in Nemea, Peloponnese, a place famous for its ancient Stadium, where the Nemean Games took place in antiquity, and its red wines from the Agiorgitiko grape, the most developed PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) in Greece.

After the tour and while adults will be given the time to meet the Greek varieties and taste the Nemean wines and the hors d’oeuvres without distractions (!), children will participate in drama and sensory games regarding the grape, the raisin, Greek mythology, and their role in the Greek culture: they will taste products like grape must cookies, grape juice, vine, raisins and depending on the season fresh grapes and moustalevria (a traditional dessert containing grapes and flour). They will have the opportunity to learn about the process of winemaking; picking, crushing and fermenting the grapes into wine and they are going to have a “grape” time!

The tour can be customized according to the group’s interests to include more wineries in Nemea or a wine tour in the most important wineries and vineyards in the Peloponnese: Nemea, Mantineia and Achaia including archaeological sites (Ancient Nemea, the Archaeological Museum of Patras, Mycenae, the Archaeological site of Mantineia)
