Privately Guided Tours for Deaf Tourists
Tours in sign language in Greece offered by Dimitra Kokkevi-Fotiou, pioneer deaf archaeologist and licensed tourist guide for the deaf, Curator of the National Archeological Museum’s Pre-Historic Collection for more than 35 years.
“She not only stirs their imaginations during her tour of the National Archeological Museum, but her fascinating and engaging presentations also make the field of archeology come alive”, underline students from the Rochester School for the Deaf.
Though retired in 2012, Dimitra voluntarily conducts tours and educational programs for the deaf at the National Archeological Museum, the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, Delphi, Mycenae, Crete and Santorini during which she will immerse your family in the world of ancient Greek archeology. Depending on the age of deaf kids, she includes a mix of age-appropriate, hands-on activities and educational presentations.
