A day at the farm & Sounio for kids

Half-day private family trip to Sounio

Embark on the best half-day trip with kids away from Athens, to a place where the horizon meets the Aegean Sea. Your private family tour will start from Athens with an impressive drive along the coastline of Attica in order to visit with your kids in the most interesting and comfortable way the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio.

Through a short and beautiful coastal drive, you will first have a stop at an innovative space, an urban farm close to Sounio dedicated to learning from nature. During our visit at this nature-themed park – operating mainly for children – you will roll up your sleeves and watch life sprout up from the earth joining fun educational activities, such as making your own tomato sauce prepared with Greek herbs and extra virgin olive oil.

Continue to the Temple of Poseidon, the ancient Greek God of the sea, that dominates the southernmost tip of Attica, where the horizon meets the Aegean Sea. There, stories and legends unveil about the ship of King Menelaus who stopped briefly at Sounio on his way back from Troy. Or, about the unfortunate King Aegeus who drowned himself on that spot and the Aegean Sea got named after him. And about the people who built a temple using local marble to honor the God of the sea and safeguard the profits from the neighboring Lavrio mines.

A handcrafted inspirational gift will be given to the children as a souvenir of this special day at Sounio!
