Wine Tour That Combines Tasting With History
If you want to visit the oldest wine industry in Greece – where the famous dark red ‘Mavrodafni’ or Daphne Nerra was bottled for the first time in Greece in 1854, then the winery of Achaia Clauss in Patras is just what you are looking for!
You will experience a private guided tour at Imperial Wine Cellar No10, one of Achaia Clausse’s oldest buildings, which has a total of 167 Mavrodaphne barrels, with a capacity of 1,975 liters to 13,195 liters. Four of the barrels are carved from famous sculptors with representations from Greek mythology.
Wine tasting of the premium wines of the winery, will take place in the villa of Gustav Clauss which nowadays operates as a museum of barrel and wine making and is available for wine tasting only to distinguished visitors.

This private family tour is ideal for families with children from 7 years old and it operates throughout the year. It cannot be booked independently, but as part of a multi-day tailormade trip in the wider region of northern Peloponnese.
