The Benaki Toy Museum opened to the public in 2017. Its holdings are based on the collection of Maria Argyriadi that is among the most important in Europe. The collection includes toys, books, ephemera, clothing and other items associated with childhood from Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. This private tour at the Benaki Toy Museum is designed for families willing to explore an interesting toy collection and spend a beautiful day discovering Faliro, one of the most interesting Athens suburbs by the sea.

While in Athens with kids, in this exclusive tour, the Collection’s curators will accompany the whole family in a unique tour in the Museum in Faliro unfolding the history of toys from Greece and all over the world. The magic begins when you delve into the Collection’s “sanctum”! In this tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the Museum’s hidden treasures that are inaccessible to the wider public.

After the tour, children will create their own handmade toys with the guidance of the Museum’s educators to take back home together with a gift from the Museum’s shop as a souvenir from their visit to the Museum and Greece. 

Optional walk

You can continue your day at the Flisvos Marina and its commercial complex that offers numerous dining, shopping and recreational opportunities (and a playground!) – all within a natural environment overlooking the blue Mediterranean Sea.

In the Marina, you will also have the opportunity to visit the “Neraida Floating Museum”, narrating the business career of the ship’s owner, John Latsis, as well as the history of the ship since its construction in 1939 until the completion of its reconstruction in 2010.

Next to the Flisvos Marina, you will find many playgrounds for all age groups, a restaurant-café and toy cars in the “Flisvos Park”.

This family private tour is ideal for families with children from 4 to 12 years old. It operates throughout the year and it cannot be booked independently, but as part of a multi-day tailormade trip in Greece.
