Family farming and cooking in Corinthia
Educational tour and meal at a farm in Corinthia
There is no better place than Vasiliko or Ancient Sikyon for housing Panagiotis’s farm “Drupes”. The most important ancient artistic center in the Peloponnese situated in a fertile valley about three km from the Corinthian Gulf, Ancient Sikyon was home to the renowned sculptor Lysippos and the center of the art of painting in antiquity. In this place, you will have the chance to live one of the most authentic family farming and cooking experiences in pure nature while in Corinthia, Peloponnese.
Panagiotis is a sculptor and a farmer. Father of two kids, he has returned to his homeland after years of studies and he has invested in “Drupes”, a farm that produces high-quality products, such as apricot chutney, apricot-made balsamic crème, or his award-winning molasses made from pomegranate (ideal for pancakes).
On his farm, you will be able to see -almost all- examples of pomegranate trees growing in the Mediterranean. You will find yourself among the amicable farm animals and his sculptures of metal and you will be able to learn more about the production process, to cook with him, and to taste the products in an authentic family-oriented agritourist experience.
Take an educational tour in the farm and the cottage industry, pay a visit to the pomegranate and apricot groves, participate in a cooking class of a “creative” Greek cuisine in the cottage, or a pastry-making class based on fresh fruits in the pomegranate or the apricot groves. You will be also able to walk to Ancient Sikyon to see the remnants of the ancient city and the Museum.
