Family Workshop Ideal for Kids Close to Gytheio

Just 30’ far away from Gytheio at the base of Mount Taygetos in Mani you can find the authentic Greek village Xirokambi, where an authentic mosaic workship is located. You will be hosted in one of the traditional buildings, where its owner will welcome you and train you in her garden the ancient art form of mosaics. In just 3-4 hours you can create your own 20cm*20cm ceramic and take it home as souvenir. Available designs inspired by Greek/Roman patterns are available on spot to choose from or you can bring your own design.

How to book

This private hands-on activity is ideal for families with children from 10 years old. Toddlers and younger kids are welcome to create a small bean mosaic. The workshop operates throughout the year in the atelier’s garden that is covered in case of rain or in any other place in the wider Mani area. It cannot be booked independently, but as part of a multi-day tailormade trip in Mani.
